Going Out — Walking and Resounding Bodies
Drawing on the book Going Out. Walking, Listening, Soundmaking (umland editions 2022), this talk explores the intersections of walking, listening and sound-making in public space focusing on feminist, decolonial and anti-ableist approaches based on silence, noise and voice. The aim is to connect (and promote) different “situated” perspectives that challenge hegemonic spatial relations and the assignment of certain bodies to certain spaces, thereby generating alternative narratives and experiences of walking, listening, silence and noise in the public sphere.
